Alumni Events Calendar

The following is provided to help you plan your class reunion. We are delighted that your class will have the opportunity to get together.

We want to help you. The following is a timeline and a list of ways that the Alumni Association and the Alumni Office can work with you.

3-9 months before the reunion:

  • Call the Alumni Office to tell them of your plans
  • Call or email your classmates to form a committee
  • Select a date (if different from the all-class reunion)
  • Make your reservations and determine menu, music, entertainment, registration, etc.
  • Ask the Alumni Office for a list of your classmates and their addresses (You may also want to write to the parents of alumni, if you don’t have the student information.)
  • Have your committee verify addresses and find any lost people; check out RHSM’s OnLine Community to update your information and look for “lost alums.” You may want to post messages and let your classmates know your latest news.
  • Give any address changes to the Alumni Office
  • Find the addresses of any faculty or other guests that you want to invite ( the Alumni Office can help with this)
  • Decide how much you will charge each person
  • Send a Save the Date card. The Alumni Office can provide a generic RHSM postcard and address labels
  • Advertise in the Review (Deadline is 2 nd week in April) and Online
  • Design and print invitations
  • Request labels or a list (for hand-written envelopes) from Alumni Office

1 month before to day of the reunion

  • Send invitations
  • Make follow-up phone calls to reinforce the invitation

Day of reunion

  • Relax for a while at the all-class reunion (we’ll take care of you)
  • Remind your classmates to meet at the next event
  • Enjoy your reunion!

After the reunion

  • Write all of your thank you notes and pay the bills
  • Send us a written synopsis and some pictures to put into the Review
  • Assign one or two other people to be responsible for the next reunion .

If you plan to have fun and to reach as many classmates as possible, your event will be a success!

Some things to consider are:

Where do you want to hold your event? Many classes hold their event in conjunction with the All Class Reunion, which is generally mid-June every year.

Others plan a whole weekend of activities, some adults only and some with families. Some classes opt to hold reunions in other cities. If that is what works best for your class, do it! Remember, the important thing is to reconnect the people.

Ideas:

  • Create a web site for classmates to send in updates and pictures for the reunion
  • Invite other classes to attend (the more the merrier!)
  • Create fun awards (who traveled the farthest, which alum has the most kids, degrees, gray hair, etc.)
  • Consider making a class gift to the school
